The festival’s season is coming to an end. As every year the last week in august is a sort of cool-down period. All the festivals but one (the international) are finished and this leaves the city into a new status. The weather is still fine but there are less tourists around, making it the perfect period to visit Edinburgh. The event that mark both the beginning and the end of the season are the fireworks. I’ll post a wee note about the fire show this sunday from Calton Hill…

I’ve always been attracted by image manipulation. Is incredible what a wee Nokia can actually do! This is the Queen’s Hall on Clerk street, venue of our last Fringe gig. This time I call it gig because it was a music event. The first part , misa campesina, was fine. Well sung and the orchestra was brilliant. After the interval something unexpected happened: the show turned into a story told by a narrator and the orchestra in charge of the sound track. Not a bad idea, but the story itself was not that well represented!

Unfortunately the film that I was writing about didn’t live up to expectations. Anyway things are going find here, we’re having some good weather. The pics shows my shadow on the pavement of festival square…

It’s an interesting day today. Early finish at work and after a nice espresso some writing on the move. To finish on an high note the day: cinema. We’re going to watch our first film of the film festival. A german comedy that portraits the life of two sisters: Twisted Sisters. I’ll let you know who it is…

Today is the 14 of august 2007. Just one day from the Ferragosto. Even if the clouds are dark and the temperature low, we are in celebration mood. So we went for a pizza in our favourite pizzeria in Edinburgh, La Favorita. This is the real deal; log fire, friendly staff and a master pizzaiolo!
If you are looking for the original pizza in the scottish capital this is the place.
